The California Gold Rush is considered the largest mass migration in American history. Roughly 300,000 people packed up their belongings in the hopes to create wealth and riches. Today, history is repeating itself. The gold is green, and it’s called the Green Rush.

It’s September of 2018, and so far,it has been a successful cannabis year.Specifically, in California, businesses are booming, new dispensaries are popping up, and licenses are being given to operate legally.New states are discussing legalization, and Canada legalized cannabis, Canadian banks can accept cannabis businesses, investors can be guaranteed the government won’t shut it down.

Jobs

Cannabis employers are enjoying the popularity of cannabis, but only those in the legalized states can work. According to my last article,in the United States, “if cannabis would be legalized today, there would be 782,00 additional jobs nationwide, jumping to 1.1 million by 2025”.

“If cannabis businesses were legalized tomorrow and taxed as normal businesses with a standard 35 percent tax rate, cannabis businesses would infuse the U.S. economy with an additional $12.6 billion this year,”.Giadha Aguirre De Carcer, the CEO of New Frontier.

Research

According to our Evan Clarks article, The Global State of Cannabis Research, the Netherlands, Canada, and Israel are notable as the only three countries in the world with nationally sponsored medical marijuana programs. The FDA said in The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) requires that drugs be shown to be safe and effective for their intended uses before being marketed in the United States.”

Education and research are prevailing. The more we have to prove, the faster we come to legalization. That is why Clinical Trials are essential. Cannabis provides jobs, and a treatment for those who need it. The Green Rush is here, and it’s going to explode.
